Lady Bird

Hello!  I have an inspiration project for the Crafty Sentiments Designs challenge blog for you today.  The theme is use pearls or gems.  Those are two of my favorite things!  I used the image Lady Bird and Butterfly.  Here in the US, we call them lady bugs, but I love lady bird so much more!

Isn't she just the sweetest?  You can find Lady Bird and Butterfly in the shop.  She is a digital image and so it is always fun to use the out of the box technique.  I love the Silhouette Cameo for that job.  That machine makes it so easy!  I felt that a red, black and white color combo was a great choice for this image.  I wanted to add some lady birds, so I left a border on the side so I could doodle a few trails and add my lady bird stickers.  You can't tell in the photo, but the black mat is a glitter card stock.  I couldn't get it to show in the picture.

Three digital stamps of your choice are on offer as a prize, so pull out those pearls and gems and get to work.  You don't have to use a Crafty Sentiments Designs stamp, but if you have some, we would love to see them!

This is my version of Lust.  I went with all red tones even for her hair.  I love that color combo and need to write it down for use in the future!  I used the Copic colors E19, E08, and E18.  She was cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  The scattered petals were colored using a gold Wink of Stella pen.

It's Thursday so that means it is time for another Creative Knockouts challenge.  This week the theme is anything goes!  I  know how you love them so I expect to see tons of wonderful projects this week.

For my project I used Chillin' Out Maizy from Digital Delights.  I knew I had the perfect paper for this image and luckily I was able to find it!  And it didn't take me all day either!  She was colored with Copic markers and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  The die is also a Silhouette cut file from the design store.

A Little Sketchy

For our challenge in the Crafty Gals Corner this week, we have a theme of anything goes.  We always have so many wonderful entries when we have an anything goes challenge!

I used A Little Sketchy - Girl Birthday from Bugaboo Stamps for my card.  I thought she was such a cutie!  And she comes with the sentiment in the speech bubbles and blank speech bubbles as well.  I colored her with Copics and used the Silhouette Cameo to cut her out.  The ribbon actually came from some pajama packaging.  I do love my ribbon, no matter where it comes from!  I used a Copic Spica pen on the heart and the star.  They have such wonderful sparkle to them!

We have two wonderfully generous sponsors this week.  You can find the links below to each shop by clicking the badges.

May Flowers

Hello, everyone!  It is Wednesday so that means it is time for a new challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner.  If April means rain, then we know what May means!  It means flowers!  That's our new challenge for you this week...flowers!

I used Flower Hat from Sami Stamps for my project this week.  I wanted to try something a little different, so I colored the flower using two colors.  I really like the way it turned out!  The image is colored with Copic markers and was cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  I still had the scrap of paper that I used on my project the other day and realized it matched the colors perfectly!  Got to love it when that happens.  No scrambling to find the perfect piece of paper to use.

We have three awesome and generous sponsors for you this week.  Click the badge and be magically transported to the shop through the power of the internet!

Fairy Sweet

Hello!  It is time for a new challenge at the Crafty Sentiments challenge blog.  Our challenge this week is something with wings.

I chose to use the stamp Isobel - Flower Fairy for my project.  Isn't that just the sweetest face?  She is colored with Copic markers.  I used a die from Paper Smooches Dots and Dashes set to create the border around the image.  I have had the background paper forever and was so excited when I found it in my scrap box.  I always color first and look for paper later.  Sometimes it is really hard to find something that matches.  Luckily, not this time!  The lace I have used on this card is from Finland. Last October we went to visit our son who is currently living there.  We found an amazing craft store with tons of this beautiful lace.  I have been hoarding it since then, but finally brought myself to use a piece of it.

You have a chance to win some lovely Crafty Sentiments prizes, so I hope you will all come play along.

A Rose By Any Other Name

is Ashlee Rose!  Hello MoonFlower fans!  It is my turn to post a bit of MoonFlower inspiration both on the blog and here.  I chose Ashlee Rose for my project this time around.  I believe she is still the newsletter freebie.  If you sign up and confirm your subscription, you will receive her as a gift.

I colored Ashlee Rose with Copic markers and cut her out using the Silhouette.  She has a bit of clear Wink of Stella on her wings.  All fairy wings should sparkle, right?!

I tried a few new things with this project.  I made the rolled roses by crocheting some embroidery floss into the strip that I rolled into the rose.  I think it gives a fun shabby chic look.  I crocheted the leaves as well.  =)  I also pulled a couple of the threads in the satin ribbon to cause it to gather. I then sealed the ends with a lighter and put it on my card.  I think it adds some great dimension.

Did you know that MoonFlower Digi Stamps has a Facebook fan group?!  We do!  We share inspiration, sneak peeks and our love of MoonFlower stamps.  There is a current coloring challenge happening and we would love to see you play along if you are on Facebook!  Pop in and say "hi".

Doilies Everywhere!

Hello!  It is time for the next challenge at Creative Knockouts.  The theme this week is Doily Delight.  I have had packages of doilies for ages and this gave me an excuse to dig them out and put them on a project.

I may have gone doily delirious on this card!  I used Gardenia Secret Love Blooming Treasure from our sponsor Lacy Sunshine.  I used two paper doilies as a background for the image.  The square doily was purchased from Stampin' Up! ages ago!

Spots, Dots, and Stripes! Oh My!

Hello everyone!  This week at the Crafty Gals Corner, our challenge for you is Dots and/or Stripes.  I love dots and stripes together, so I chose to use them both!

I used this adorable image called Fruity Babies Watermelon from our sponsor Scrapper's Delights.  She was colored with Copic markers.  I have gone pretty fussy and fancy lately, so I decided to keep this card a little simpler.  All of the "enamel dots" are melted pony beads.  They smell bad when melting, but they sure are an easy way to add to that scrap stash!

Scrapper's Delight is our sole sponsor and you have a chance to win 3 digital images by linking your dots and/or stripes project to this challenge.  You can click the badge below to check out all of the wonderful images on offer.

Mother's Love

Hello Crafty Gal friends!  We have a new challenge up for you today at the Crafty Gals Corner and the theme is Celebrate Mom.  Mother's Day is almost upon us in the US and that means lots of cards and flowers.

For my project I used String of Love Faery from Faery Ink.  I fell in love with this image when Amanda first showed it off in her group.  It was challenging coloring all of those folds, but I am really happy with how it came out.  She was colored with Copics and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  She has a touch of clear Wink of Stella on her wings because all faery wings should sparkle!  I loved the paper from Michele R Designs that I used on a recent project so much, that I used again on this one.  The In the Garden collection is so beautiful and feminine.

We have two wonderful sponsors this week.  You can click each badge to pop over and shop to your heart's content.

I have some exciting news!  I was asked to be a guest designer for Crafty Sentiments!  To say I was honored was putting it mildly!  I was amazed; floored; flabbergasted; and of course I said yes!  I am excited to have a chance to work with the adorable stamps on offer at the Crafty Sentiments store.  Without further ado, here is my first project for the team!

This is Isobel -Rose Fairy and she is a new release and will be available as a rubber stamp in the shop on Saturday.  I have had this paper for ages and thought it would be a lovely color combo for Isobel.  I am working hard to pare down my many, many scraps and am always happy to use up a large piece like this one (as well as the blue mat!).  She is colored with Copic markers and has a touch of clear Wink of Stella on her wings.

The challenge this week is anything goes, so it is really easy to play along.  You don't have to use a Crafty Sentiments stamp, but we are always happy to see them if you have one.  You get three chances in the main draw as well.  I hope you will play along with us.
