Life's a Beach

It is time for another challenge at Creative Knockouts.  This week our theme is Outside Fun.  It is a pretty broad theme so I can't wait to see what you come up with.

I used Rory on the Beach from Lacy Sunshine this week and colored her with Copic markers.  This is where I like to spend my outside fun.  It helps that I live on the border of Florida and Alabama and the beach is just down the road!  Here in the Gulf, we have white sand beaches that I think are absolutely gorgeous.  So Rory is on the Gulf Coast!

Lacy Sunshine is our sole sponsor and you have a chance to win three digital stamps from the shop.  You can pop over by clicking on the badge and start making your wish list.

Hope you will play along with us.

Mod Squad has a use water challenge.  Rory loves listening to the waves and is going to go play in that challenge.

Exotic Beauty

Hello MoonFlower fans!  It is my turn to showcase Exotic Beauty.  She is the gorgeous new release this month.  I think she is gorgeous!

I thought this gorgeous lady needed an equally gorgeous backdrop, so I created an easel card using Spellbinders dies.  This is one of my favorite sets, and I love how fancy they are!  She is colored with Copic markers and I used the Silhouette to cut her out. You can find Exotic Beauty in the shop or in the Etsy Shop.

You can't really tell, but the purple cardstock has a pretty metallic sheen to it.  The black layer on the bottom also has a glossy embossed finish.  I have had that scrap of paper forever and finally found the perfect spot to use it.  If you click the picture, you can just see the pearls and gold Wink of Stella I used for her hairpieces.

Don't forget to sign up for the newsletter.  Andreia has a wonderful freebie each month for subscribers.  What a great way to add to your MoonFlower collection!  Just pop over to the website and subscribe.  Be sure to confirm your subscription, otherwise you won't actually receive the newsletter.

If you are on Facebook, you should come join us in the MoonFlower Digital Stamps group.  You can get sneak peeks of what Andreia is working on, join in the monthly challenge, and see some wonderful MoonFlower inspiration.  I hope to see you there.

Digi Designs has a For the Girls challenge.  This Exotic Beauty is going to visit with all of the ladies in that challenge.

My Time to Craft has a girlie challenge.  This Exotic Beauty feels pretty and girlie and is going to play in that challenge.

Sweet Stampin' has a swirls and pearls challenge.  This exotic beauty loves the swirls on her frames and her purple pearls.  She is going to go play in that challenge.

As You Like It has a favorite line on the bingo board and why.  Exotic Beauty is going to play in taht challenge.  I love to create fussy and fancy cards.  I have a huge hoard stash of lace, pearls (and gems and ribbon and buttons) because they are some of my favorite embellishments.  Making fussy and fancy cards allows me to use so many of them. And trust me...I have plenty to use. =P

The Paper Girls has a Paper Girl challenge.  Exotic Beauty is going to hang with the other ladies in that challenge.

Love You

I have some exciting news!  In December, my project was one of the top picks at Inkspirational Challenges.  I was asked to be a guest designer this week and of course I had to say yes!  They have a wonderful inspiration photo for this challenge.

As soon as I saw this picture, I knew what stamp I wanted to use: With You by Sami Stamps.

I used GIMP 2.0 to invert the colors of the stamp.  Then I put it on a black background and cropped it so the portions of the umbrella that were outside of the background wouldn't print.  I also printed a regular black and white image on both yellow and white paper.  I pieced the umbrella, skirt and shoes.  The twine, doodling and sentiment finished off the card.  What do you know?!  I managed another CAS card!

I hope you will join in on the challenge.  This is a fabulous inspiration photo and I can't wait to see how you all interpret it!

Less Is More has a polka dots challenge. This couple is going to step out of the rain and play in that challenge.

April Showers

Hello everyone.  It is time for another challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner.  This week the challenge is Easter or Spring.  I don't really send cards for Easter so I chose to do a spring project for my inspiration.  I know it isn't quite April yet, but in my neck of the woods, we have had a ton of rain!  I just thought this was appropriate even though we haven't made it to April.

I used Umbrella Splash from Sami Stamps for my project this week.  She is colored with Copics and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  I also created the backing stitched circle with the Silhouette.  I love the stitched dies, but don't have any yet.  Luckily I can get the same look with the Silhouette.  The sentiment was also created in the Silhouette software.  I started with a cut file from the store and colored it in using the software and printed it.

We have three awesome sponsors for you this week.  You can visit the shop simply by clicking the badge below.

Spring Has Sprung!

Hello everyone.  Welcome back to the Creative Knockouts for another challenge.  This week's theme is Spring Is On It's Way.  In a few days, it will officially be spring.  Does it feel like spring in your neck of the woods?  Here in the Florida panhandle, we have definitely had beautiful spring days.

This week I used Bekkah Bloom from Bloobel Stamps for my project.  She was a freebie in the Facebook group a little while ago.  Now you can find her in the Etsy Shop.  She was colored with Copic markers.

Our sponsor this week is Di's Digi Stamps.  You have a chance to win a $12 gift certificate for the store.  Click the link to pop over and check out all of the adorable designs.

We are looking forward to seeing all of your spring inspiration.

Wee Folk

Hello!  It is my turn to provide a little inspiration on the MoonFlower Blog and I chose Ashlee Toad Fairy for my project.

I colored her with Copics to look like my idea of one of the Irish wee folk for St. Patrick's Day.  She was cut out using the Silhouette and the frame is also a Silhouette cut file.  She has clear Wink of Stella on her wings, but it is so hard to capture that in a picture.

You can find Ashlee Toad Fairy in the MoonFlower shop or, if you prefer, in the Etsy shop.  If you color her up, be sure to share with us in the MoonFlower group on Facebook.  We would love to see your creation.

Don't forget to sign up for the newsletter.  If you do, you will add a new MoonFlower stamp to your collection each month as well as stay up-to-date on all of the MoonFlower happenings.  Just pop over to the website and fill in the form.  Be sure to confirm your email to get access to the current freebie.

Spring Flowers

Hello!  It is time for another challenge at the Corrosive Challenge blog.  This month the theme is anything goes!  Super easy to play along this time.

I used Little Lila Picking Flowers from Angie's Cards and Digis for my inspiration project.  Isn't she adorable?!  She was colored with Copics and because of my earlier Silhouette fiasco with Gus, I had to cut her out by hand.  I don't enjoy it as much as I used to!  It is so much easier with the Silhouette. Can you tell I am ready for spring?!  I just had to use sweet spring colors on this card.

This month we have two wonderful sponsors. You can pop over to each shop and check out all of the wonderful items on offer.

Growing Old

I am so excited to share this project with you today.  I had the opportunity to be a guest designer with Quirky Crafts Challenges.  I was a top pick in their January challenge and was invited to design for March.  The challenge theme this month is Quirky Masculine with ribbon or twine.

I used Gus Birthday - Optional from Bugaboo Stamps for this project.  The sentiment comes with the stamp as well.  My design was going to be a little bit different, but I had a terrible incident with my Silhouette.  Somehow my image got moved after I printed it (obviously it was me, but I sure don't know how or why!!) and he got sliced in half!!  I had to fussy cut him instead of having him in an oval.  Thank goodness I was able to save him! I also needed a larger scalloped oval so I used this Silhouette cut file and modified it for my needs.
Since he feels growing up is optional, I raided my boy papers and totally fell in love with this plaid.  I used the colors of the paper to color him using Copics.  A little twine and a few metal embellishments and he was done!

I hope you will all play along with the challenge this month.  Don't let those masculine cards scare you away!  You can do it!

Pile It On has a green and two other colors challenge (plus at least one other challenge).  Gus is going to motor his car over and play in that challenge.

St. Patrick's Day is on the way and even though I don't really ever send cards, I love images of leprechauns and shamrocks.  I always make a few cards so I can use them.  This is Peeker March from Bugaboo Stamps.  He looks surprised that someone has found his pot of gold!  He was colored with Copics and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  The card base and sentiment are also Silhouette cut files.  The coins are colored with a gold Wink of Stella pen and I added a few more "gold coin" buttons to really make his treasure shine.

This challenge brings two wonderful sponsors.  You can click each badge to check out all of the wonderful items on offer.
