Dance Like No One Is Watching

Hello, Everyone!  It is my turn to provide some inspiration on the MoonFlower Digital Stamps blog.  I tried my hand at a little mixed media this week.  Still trying to decide how I feel about it.  Mixed media just doesn't flow for me like other forms of crafting.

I used Gigi Bellydancer to create this mixed media piece.  I put down a coat of acrylic paint to lessen the texture of the canvas.  On top of that, I put a layer of watercolor paint in a blue green color.  I had to mix the color myself, and it took me a while to get it right!  Once the paint was dry, I used texture paste and a stencil to create my background texture.  I also embossed a piece of chipboard with a music note embossing folder.  I was just going to put chunks of it on, but I didn't like the edges, so I cut out selected notes instead.

Once the paste was dry, I sprayed the whole piece with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist.  It adds color and some wonderful shimmer.  Then I used some Viva Decor metallic paint and a flat brush and just hit the highlights of the stenciling and the notes.  The sentiment was computer generated and cut to fit the piece.

Gigi Bellydancer was colored with Copics and cut out using my Silhouette Cameo.  She has a little Wink of Stella in gold so she has some shimmer as well.  A few flowers and buttons finish the piece.

A Little Cupcake

Welcome back, Crafty Gals Corner fans!  It is time for a new challenge.  This week it is Anything Goes.  I can't believe it has been a week already!  The good news is my crafty space is almost back in order after our move.  I am so happy.  It is so difficult to make a project while digging in this bin and that box to find what you are looking for.

This week I used Cupcake Sprite from Aurora Wings.  I added glass microbeads to the frosting "hair" where there were sprinkles in the image.  I also colored the cupcake wrapper with gold Wink of Stella, but of course trying to capture that sparkle in a picture is nearly impossible!  Trust me!  It shimmers in real life.

Aurora Wings is our sole sponsor this week and you have a chance at a prize of a $15 gift certificate for the store!  I wish I could play along!  Click the badge below to pop over to the shop and look at all of the wonderful images that $15 could buy you!

Welcome back to another challenge at Creative Knockouts.  Our theme this week is Embossed Delights.  Show us your embossing, wet or dry, on your project this week.

This is Catchin' Flakes by Fred, She Said Designs. I colored this adorable little boy with Copic markers.  I love dry embossing, so my card features one of the many embossing folders I have hoarded collected.  The frame was cut using my Silhouette Cameo.  I used some Astrosilver paper so it looks very shiny and icy.

You have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate for the Fred, She Said Designs shop.  Click the badge below to pop over to the shop to check out all of the sweet stamps on offer.

Smile!

Welcome back to the Crafty Gals Corner!  This week our theme is to use something New.  Maybe it is a new technique or a new product.

I used Stitchy Bear's Snow Family by Digi Blessings for my project this week.  I thought it looked like they were posing for a picture, so I used a new cut file from the Silhouette store to frame them.  Then I found the cutest sentiment on the store as well and used that for this card.  It was a cut file, but I filled it and printed it instead.  I also used a new inkjet printable glitter paper for the snow in the "picture".  You can just see the shimmer if you look closely.

We always have such wonderful sponsors for our challenges and this week is no different.  You can pop over to each shop and have a look around by clicking on each of the badges.

Stop and Smell the Roses

Hello everyone!  Welcome to my first post as a design team member for the Corrosive Challenge blog.  I am so excited to be on this team and to provide you with a little inspiration each month.  This month the theme is New Year's Resolution.  I had to stop and think about my resolution.  I decided that I wanted to worry less and try to take the time to appreciate the small things in life.

Deciding on that resolution led me to choose this stamp called Fairy Wishes by Morgan's Art World.  It seemed to me like she was taking the time to appreciate the flowers.  She was colored with Copic markers and cut out using my Silhouette Cameo.  The sentiment is actually a Silhouette cut file.  I used the software to fill the shape and then printed it out instead of cutting it.  The frame was purchased at the dollar store.  Once it was covered with the lace, you couldn't even tell what it looked like!  I am going to hang this in my craft room once we have settled.  We just moved and everything is in boxes and in total chaos!

We have two wonderful sponsors for this challenge.  You can click on the badges below to check out all of the wonderful images on offer in each shop.

B-B-Buttons and Bows

Hello everyone!  We are back to our regular challenges at the Crafty Gals Corner, so the mission this week, should you choose to accept it is Buttons and Bows.

This is Baby It's Cold Outside from The East Wind.  As my feet are a little cold this evening, I have to agree with her!  I colored the image using Copic markers.  The frame is a cut file from the Silhouette store and so are the icicles.  I cut them from an Astrosilver paper so it has a little texture.  You can just see it in the picture.

We have four wonderful sponsors for you this week.  You can click each badge to check out all of the lovely items they have in the shop.

Celebrate

Hello everyone!  It's Thursday so that means it is time for a new challenge at Creative Knockouts.  This week we have an anything goes theme to get back into the swing of things after the holidays.

This week I used Party Cats from SLS Lines and colored them with Copic markers.  They were cut using my Silhouette Cameo.  This is the first time I have ever made a shaker card and I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out.  I learned a few things for next time, though.  I thought this card was awesome for New Year's but it also works for a birthday card.

I didn't have a star die, so I cut the star using a Silhouette cut file.  I used the same cut file to make the star frame as well.  The sentiment is also a Silhouette cut file.  You can't tell in the picture, but the paper is a gorgeous gold glitter paper.  It is a printable glitter card stock, but I don't think I will ever print on it.  It is so sparkly in real life!

SLS Lines is our awesome sponsor this week.  You have the chance to win three digital stamps from the shop.  Click on the badge below to head over and start making your wish list.

A Little Winter

Welcome back to another challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner.  We have one more anything goes challenge for you and will be back to our regular weekly themes next week.

This week I used Winter Elf from Scrapper's Delights for my project. I was trying to decide on a color scheme and was going to go with light blue and dark blue.  My daughter and I went to the store and there was a large display of laundry baskets in aqua, navy and white.  I loved it so much and I thought it was the perfect color combo for this card.  You never know where inspiration will strike, so be sure to pay attention!

I colored Winter Elf using Copic markers.  She was cut out using my Silhouette Cameo.  I used a little bit of clear Wink of Stella on the balls on her shoes and the diamond shapes on her hat and dress.  I also used silver Wink of Stella on her earring.  The snowflake mat was created by using a Silhouette cut and increasing the size in 1/4" increments.  A few embellishments and the card was finished.

Scrapper's Delights is our sponsor for this week.  You have a shot at winning three digital images.  Click the badge below to check out all of the goodies in the shop.

I hope to see you play along in the challenge.

Unicorn Magic

Hello everyone and welcome back to another challenge at the Li'l Patch of Crafty Friends.  Our challenges are always anything goes and we love seeing all of your projects.

This week I used Unicorn Maiden from MoonFlower Digital Stamps and colored her with Copics. Andreia's stamps are so beautiful and detailed.  I also used the Vintage Garden Party collection from Michele R Designs.  The collection comes with a set of 6x6 papers, tags, ribbon slides, bows, inserts and more.  All of the embellishments on my card are from the collection.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out each of the elements I wanted to use.  The words on the tags were added in the Silhouette software as well before printing.  It makes it so easy to size the words for the tag!

We have two wonderful sponsors this week.  You can click each badge below to pop over and check out their shops.
