Going Japanese

This week at the Crafty Gals Corner, it is anything goes.  We are sponsored this week by SLS Lines and My Besties, so pop over and join us.

I had the awesome Pretty Geisha Girl to work with.  I wanted something a little different so I cut a fan shaped card using my Silhouette Cameo.  I used this fan cut file and then modified it for my use.  I also cut a cherry blossom design for the fan.  I chose that button as an embellishment because I thought it looked like ivory.  The image was colored with Copics and cut out using the Silhouette.  That machine got a huge workout on this project!  Unfortunately, we lost power twice while I was working on this, so it turned into a bit of an ordeal!  But she is finished and I love the way this turned out.

This week we are sponsored by: (click the badge to pop over to the site)

Cinderella is Ready for the Ball

Wow!  I am so excited to be posting my first project as part of the MoonFlower Digital Stamps design team!  I got to work with this gorgeous Cinderella image!  I was a little intimidated by that dress, but once I got going, she was so much fun to color!  As a kid, I always loved Cinderella's dress in the Disney version.  I couldn't imagine not coloring her dress blue!!

She was colored with Copics and I used a clear Wink of Stella pen for her bodice and her slipper.  The sparkle is gorgeous, but oh so  hard to photograph!  I added glass microbeads to her hair to enhance the artist drawn pearls in her hair.  It was a task that I thought would leave me permanently cross-eyed, but was so worth it.  And of course, Cinderella wouldn't be the same without the shoe, so a shoe charm finishes the project off.

You can find Cinderella in the MoonFlower digital store here.  You can also join us in the Facebook group to get sneak peeks of what Andreia is working on as well as joining in the monthly challenge.   This month the theme is Fairy Tales.  You will have to ask to join, but once accepted, the fun can begin!! You have a few more days to join in!  Hope to see you there.

You can also get a freebie each month by signing up for the newsletter.  Trust me!  It is one email you will be looking forward to each month!!  You can find the sign up on the website.  Scroll to the bottom to find the form.

I am entering this in the Fan-Tastic Tuesday challenge for this week.
The current challenge at the Inky Chicks is to use a metal embellishment, so Cinderella is popping by that challenge as well.

To Die For

Wow!  Has it been another week already?!  Where does the time go?  Our new challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner is To Die For.  You need to use die cuts on your project.  I may have gone a little die crazy on mine. =P

I used Sketched Rose Bouquet, a digital image from Stamplorations, one of our sponsors for this week.  I used a combination of LifeStyle Crafts dies to cut the card itself and Spellbinders dies to create the card layers.  Each layer is popped up using foam dots.  The cream layers are a pearlescent paper, but of course it is so difficult to capture that in a picture!!  I didn't add a sentiment, because I am not sure what I want to use the card for.  I tend to leave them off until I actually use the card.

Our wonderful sponsors for this week are (click the badge to hop over to their sites):

You can find the digital store here.

I am going to enter this in the challenge at Doodle Pantry as well.

Christmas?! In July?!

Merry Christmas!!  Over here in the Crafty Gals Corner, we have a bit of Christmas for you this week.  It is Christmas in July!!  I have to admit...I do not start thinking about my Christmas cards until it is almost December.  A habit I really should break, but you know what they say about habits.

Our sponsor for this week is Kenny K.  I got to use Xmas Greetings.  He has a wonderful shop full of digital stamps for all occasions and tastes.  Click on the badge below to be magically transported through time and space to his shop!  I colored her with Copics and went a little crazy on embellishments.  I saw a card done by Rhea Weigand that had ribbon woven in among all of the embellies and I wanted to give it a try.  I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  Thanks for the inspiration, Rhea!!

So you may be interested to know what you will win!  Well you can win three digital images from the shop.  So hop on over and take a look and make a list of your favorites!

I am entering this in the current Whimsy Stamps Inspiration challenge.  The theme is also Christmas in July.

I am entering this in the Kraftin' Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday challenge.  The theme is always Anything Goes.

I am going to join the Kenny K Krafty Krew for their Christmas in July challenge as well!  What wonderful timing!!

Deep Ocean also has a Christmas in July challenge.  I am popping this in there as well. =)

I am looking forward to seeing all of your Christmas projects.  Maybe that will get me inspired to start working on my Christmas cards before December. =P

Under the Sea

"Under da sea!  Under da sea!  Everything's better
down where it's wetter.
 Take it from me!"
--Sebastian, Little Mermaid

The other Crafty Gals and I invite you to come under the sea with us to see if Sebastian really knew what he was talking about.  The theme of this week's challenge is Under the Sea and there are some fabulous projects to inspire you.

Our sponsor this week is Sweet Pea Stamps.  The shop carries both rubber and digital from a huge variety of artists.  The image I used is Seahorses from Teresa Sherman.  I just love that they are holding tails!!  I colored the image with Copics.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut most of the background pieces.  The shell and the seaweed were purchased from the Silhouette store, but I used a drawing of coral to create a cut for the coral pieces.  The clear bubbles are actually vase filler beads called Moon Drops that look just like the dew drops sold in the scrapbooking aisle.  However, you get a huge bag of them and, especially with a craft store coupon, it is a total bargain!  I got the clear ones because I can color them using my Copics to match a project.  I won't be running out of these for a while!!

Pop on over to the Sweet Pea Stamps website and take a look at all of the amazing sea themed stamps that are available.  Join us this week for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the shop.  Wish I could enter the challenge!!

Country Girl

Welcome to another fun challenge at the Li'l Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge blog.  As always, our challenge is Anything Goes.  I had the opportunity to work  with a lovely image from Karleigh Sue.

The image is Country Girl's Heart and you can find it in the Karleigh Sue shop on Etsy.  I colored it using Copics.  The plaid background paper and the paper behind the image are from Nitwit Collections.  I just love Mary Fran's fat quarter bundle digital paper.  They have the feel of quilt fabrics.  This collection is Winter Wishes and comes with a ton of wonderful elements as well as all of the gorgeous papers.  If you prefer real paper, you can find some of them in paper pads at Lily of the Valley.

We have three wonderful and generous sponsors for this challenge.  Click the badge and you will be magically transported to each sponsor's shop.
