Yum! Watermelon!

It is time for our new challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner.  This week is anything goes, but I am stuck in a summer theme.  It is so hot, I thought watermelon would be a wonderful treat!

I used Watermelon Ellie from Paper Nest Dolls for this project.  She is colored with Copic markers and I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut her out.  I thought the gingham paper gave it a bit of a picnic feel.   Although, right now it is way to hot for a picnic here!

We have two generous sponsors for this week's challenge.  You can click the badges below to magically pop over each shop and take a look.

More Summer!

I don't know about where you are...but here it has been HOT!  Living in the southern part of the US, I expect it to be warm this time of the year.  However, not only has it been hot, but the air has been still so that sticky air just sits right on you!  This week at Crafty Sentiments Designs, our challenge is anything goes, but I stuck with a bit of summer for my project.

I chose some fun summery colors for My Summer Hat.  This little cutie is available as a rubber stamp in the shop.  She was fussy cut by hand...man...did I forget how long that can take!  The die behind her was actually a square like the one I used for the card.  I didn't like the way it fit, so I cut it, overlapped it and taped it back together.  I was going to just use the part I cut off, but I didn't like the way it looked without the circles on the right side.

Be sure to play along with us because you have a chance to win 3 digital stamps of your choice.  There are a lot to choose from in the shop, so go make your wish list and pop in and play.  It's anything goes, so it is super easy to play along.

The Empress

It is my turn to provide a little inspiration on the MoonFlower Blog.  This week we are using Camellias Empress and I can't believe how different they all are!

I colored Camellias Empress with Copic Markers.  I used this fabulous paper by Tracy Wray.  If you are on Facebook, you can join the Art by Miran group.  Tracy does a new set each month for free!  I took the colors for the image from the paper.  The frame is a Silhouette cut file.

If you have some MoonFlower Digital Stamps you have colored, show them to us in the MoonFlower Facebook group!  We would love to see them.  Even if you haven't colored any, just pop in and say hello.

Did you know MoonFlower Digital Stamps also has a Pinterest board?  Here you can find all kinds of gorgeous MoonFlower inspiration!

Hope to see you in the group soon!

So Charming!

Welcome to the new challenge at Creative Knockouts.  This week is A Charmed Life: use a charm on your project.

This week I used Sweet Sai the Fairy from Oddball Art.  She was colored with Copics and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  I just got the Heart Circles dies and was so excited to have them for this project.  I also used clear Wink of Stella on her wings, because fairy wings must sparkle!  It took a little fiddling, but I love the way the twine makes a heart as well.  =)

Oddball art is our sole sponsor for this week's challenge.  Click the badge below to pop over and look at all of the images in the shop.  You have a chance at 3 digital images of your choice if you win!

Sparkle and Shine

Wow!  Wednesday again!  So hard to believe it is here already.  Wednesday means it is time for a new challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner.  This week we challenge you to a little sparkle and shine!

This is Elegant Gown Bride from Lemon Shortbread.  She was printed on Cryogen White paper from Paper Temptress so she has a subtle shimmer.  Unfortunately, it is impossible to photograph, so you will have to take my word for it!  =P  She was colored with Copic markers and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  Cryogen White is not a bright white so I used some cream markers to accent the folds in her dress.  I added some shine with a lovely metallic gold paper I have had in my stash for years.  I got it at a stamp convention from a company called The Paper Cut.  They have some wonderful papers and I always visit their booth and spend way more than I should!

We have two lovely sponsors this week.  You can click on the badges below to pop over and do a little shopping.

More Summer Inspiration

Wow!  What a crafty week it has been already!  And here it is Wednesday and time for another Crafty Gals Corner challenge!  The challenge this week is Summer Fun.

I used Aurora Spring Butterfly from the East Wind for this project.  She is colored with Copics and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  The digi actually had dots and bubbles, but I added the enamel dots and sequins where those were instead.  I just loved the idea of laying in the grass and watching the butterflies so I wanted to give that feeling without creating an actual scene.  I printed the word "dream" onto a scrap piece of card stock and then used the die to cut it out.  The die is from Spellbinders and is actually a speech bubble.  I just cut off the little tail to make it into a cloud.  I saw these used on someone's project and loved the stitched look.  The enamel dots I used actually started out as pony beads.  I melted them in the oven (whew! what a smell) and they become the perfect shape for enamel dots.  The size of the dot is determined by the size of the bead you start with.  I have also seen people use perler beads for the same purpose.  You can find a number of tutorials online for the process.

Summertime

We have a great challenge for you this week at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  It is getting warm outside (north of the equator, anyway!) and our thoughts are turning to summertime fun!  Our challenge this week is Summer.  Either summer activities, colors, or something that reminds you of summer.

I chose the stamp Primrose - Beach Life for my project.  She is colored with Copics and fussy cut by hand.  I really need to take some time to learn how to use my PixScan mat!  That would make cutting out stamps so much easier!

You have the chance to win three digital stamps of your choice from the Crafty Sentiments Designs store.  Click the badge below to check out all of the adorable digis on offer.  While you are there, check out all of the wonderful rubber stamps too!

Just Dance!

It is my turn to bring a little bit of inspiration to the MoonFlower Blog this week.  I chose Gigi Flap Dancer for my project this week.

Gigi Flap Dancer was colored with Copic markers and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  I also wanted a mat for her, so I used the Cameo to cut that as well.  She has a touch of gold Wink of Stella on her hair pin, necklace, and waist pin.  Love all of the sparkle that little pen gives!  The pattern on the black card stock is actually foiled.  It was so hard to get a good picture.  Either there is too much shine or not enough.  There never seems to be a happy medium!  I found the sentiment among all of my Stampin' Up! stamps and thought it was perfect!  This could be a birthday card or just a celebrate a special event card.

You should join us in the MoonFlower Digital Stamps Facebook group.  There are so many talented ladies on the team and in the group.  It is a place to get a ton of inspiration and a sneak peek now and then.  I hope to see you there!

Thinking of You

Welcome back to a new challenge at the Corrosive Challenge.  This month the theme is lots of layers.  We want you to pile them on!

I used Pretty Girl from SLS Lines.  I even layered my embellishments!  Your layers don't have to be extra fancy, they just have to be there. =)  My sentiment has 5 layers, and my image also has 5 counting the background paper.  I colored the image with Copic markers and cut it out using my Silhouette Cameo.  The sentiment is also a Silhouette cut file that was filled and printed instead of being cut.

We have two awesome sponsors for you this month. You can click the badges below to pop over and check out the shops.

With a Flourish

We have a fun challenge for you this week at the Creative Knockouts.  Our theme is Fancy Flourishes and we want to see a flourish on your card.

I used Smell the Flowers Pixie from Lemon Shortbread for this project.  The flowers on the background paper have flourished stems, so I thought it was perfect for this challenge.  I colored the pixie with Copics to match, popped the sheet into the Silhouette Cameo for cutting, and then she landed here. =)

Lemon Shortbread is our sponsor for this week.  You have the chance to win 3 digital images!  So exciting.  Wish I could play along!  Click the badge below to pop over to the shop and see what's new!

Pop of Color

We have a great challenge for you this week at the Crafty Gals Corner.  We want to see a pop of color.  So use primarily neutrals with a pop of color.

I used Steampunk Rose Bug by Rick St. Dennis for this project.  Such a unique image!  I loved it immediately and thought it would look awesome colored in Sepia tones with a pop of color for the rose.   I printed the image on Cryogen White card stock from The Paper Temptress then pulled out my Copic E50's and got to work.  The Cryogen White has a lovely shimmer to it!  I chose the burgundy as my pop of color to match the Cordovan Leather paper from the Paper Temptress for my pop of color.  I also used the Cordovan Leather for the die and for the band across the card.  The texture of this paper really is so much like leather.  It was just missing that leather smell. =P  The embossed layer is the Khaki Ruche (crepe) also from the Paper Temptress.  This paper has such a great texture on its own, and then with the embossing it is amazing!  The oval behind the rose was cut from a scrap of Opal in card stock weight.  It has such a lovely shimmer.  You can also buy it from the Paper Temptress.  When I pulled out all of my embellishments, I loved the metal flower.   It actually had a white pearl brad for the center, which didn't really match all of the creamy tones, so I removed the brad and replaced it with a gold-toned pearl.

If you haven't guessed, we have two wonderful sponsors, The Paper Temptress and Rick St. Dennis, this week.  You can click the badges below to pop over and start shopping.

Skipittydoodah!

It is time for another challenge at the Li'l Patch of Crafty Friends.  Our challenges are always anything goes, so it is easy to play along.

This week I used Emma the Skipper from Fred, She Said Designs for my project. She is colored with Copic markers and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  The sentiment is from the stamp set.  There are three stamps and sentiments in the pack.  Such a great value!  In the additional stamps Emma has a flower on her shirt and in the other her shirt is plain.  The ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl and was part of a prize pack I won!  The pearl enamel dots are melted pony beads. They look great and are so cost effective!

We have two fabulous sponsors this week. You can click the badges to pop over and shop.
