All Our Hearts!

This week the challenge at Meljen's Designs is to use Hearts.  Quite appropriate since Valentine's Day is right around the corner.  Do you send valentines?  I don't, but I like to have a few on hand to send to my special someone!

I used the I Heart You Badge and Stitched Country Heart for my card.  I colored everything with Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil.  Some pearls, twine, ribbon and flowers and it is done!

Card measures 4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Birthday, Dustin!

Over at Pike's Playground the challenge is a birthday theme because Dustin, the man behind Doodle Dragon Studios, just celebrated a birthday.  I have missed playing in the recent challenges for various reasons, so I wanted to make sure to play along this time and celebrate Dustin's birthday.

The image is, of course, a Doodle Dragon Studios image and is colored with Prismacolor pencils.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! and is in the Short and Sweet set.

I hope you enjoyed your birthday, Dustin!

Anything Goes V2.0

The theme for the challenge this month at DeNami Design, is anything goes.  After missing out on the Christmas challenge due to a lack of planning ahead and getting completely overwhelmed, I was determined to play this month.

I used the Ornamental Flowers set and the Ornamental Vine stamp to create this card.  I chose these colors so I could participate in a new challenge over at Going Buggy.  Enfys has challenged everyone to use gray or black with red and white.  I alsoadded a few pearls.  They are a little hard to see in the picture.  I was not having good luck getting a good shot with these colors!

Anything Goes at Meljen's Designs

It's Thursday so that means it's time for another challenge at Meljen's Designs.  The challenge this week is everyone's favorite: Anything Goes!  Just remember that the new requirement is to use a Meljen's Designs image for your project.  You can pop over to the shop and find a few freebies in addition to the Dollar Digis.  Pick up a couple of images and come play!

I used Gruffy Little Gnome and Missing You Heart for my card.  I plan to send it to my hubby, so I kept it free of frilly embellishments.  Mr. Mojo was playing hide and seek with me this week and the lack of frilly embellishments made this card difficult for me.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil.  I used my new Tim Holtz Retractable Craft Pick to do some piercing.  A little twine and a rhinestone colored to match and the card is finished.

Card measures 4.25" x 5.5"
Twinery cappuccino twine
rhinestone from my stash colored with copic marker

Valentine Inspiration

Welcome to the next stop on the DeNami Design Valentine blog hop.  I hope you have enjoyed yourself so far!  If you have been following the hop, you should have come here from Paulina's  blog.  I am sure she whipped up something wonderful for you as always.  Her blog is always full of inspiration as well as the DeNami Design blog.  If you didn't hop here from Paulina's blog and you would like to start at the beginning or you get lost along the way, you can always hop over to the DeNami Design blog to start from the beginning or where you left off.

Here is the project I have for you today.

I used the patterned paper as my color inspiration pulled all of my colors from it.  As I was going through my DeNami Design stamps trying to figure out which one to use, I saw the Heart Flower Trio Circle and I thought it fit the design paper perfectly.  I usually pick my stamp first, so this was a bit of a change for me!  I pieced the tiny hearts on the stamp using foil wrapping from a piece of chocolate candy.  It has so much shine to it!  I used Crystal Lacquer and added a little bit of glitter to the image for a little extra sparkle!

The next stop on your Valentine tour is Rochelle's blog.  Don't forget to leave comments along the way.  Not only does it make everyone's day a little brighter, but every comment gives you a chance to win one of 2 $20 DeNami Design gift certificates.  Two very lucky commenters will be chosen at random to win the gift certificates to increase their stash of DeNami Design products.  You have until 11:59 pm PST on Monday, January 10th to leave your comments!  One random blog hop participant will also be chosen for a third $20 gift certificate (design team not eligible).

Thank you for stopping by!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!  Can you believe it is January 2012 already?!  It seems like it was just January 2011.  I decided to start the new year off with a little crafting.

The challenge this week at the Meljen's Designs blog is to use stars.  I used Festive Firecrackers and colored them with Prismacolor Pencils.  The sentiment was computer generated but you could also use the image Stitched Celebration. I used several dies on this card.  They are listed below.  I added a bit of pearlescent embroidery filament to the flourish at the top of the card.

Card measures 4.25" x 5.5"
