Little Frankie

The challenge this week at Meljen's Designs is a sketch created by design team member, Dianna.

I love Halloween and Meljen's Designs has some amazing Halloween images.  You can find them in the shop here.

I used Little Frankie and colored him with Prismacolor pencils.  I enlarged the bat from the image to make the embellishments.  I also used the Spooky freebie that Melissa gave us recently.  I added google eyes to the "o's" and a rhinestone to the spider in the sentiment.  The background paper is a freebie I downloaded but I have no idea from where!

Trick or Treat!

I finally got my card done for the DeNami challenge this month.  The theme for the challenge is:

Look at how adorable those animals are!  And that is just a few...you should hop over to the shop and look at them all!

I love DeNami Designs animals so I had a really hard time choosing which stamps to use.  But as soon as I saw my Trick or Treat Chickies, I knew that was the stamp I had to use.

I also used the Halloween Stamp Set to create the border, background and sentiment.  I used the Double Circle stamp to create the layer behind the sentiment.  The sentiment is raised with some foam for dimension, but you can't really tell from the picture.

Paper Piercing

Paper piercing is the theme of the challenge this week at Meljen's Designs.  I can't believe it is Wednesday already!  I have procrastinated until the last possible moment again and am skidding in by the seat of my pants!  Will I never learn?!

I used Swirly Daisy Pot and colored it with Prismacolor pencils.  Yep...you guessed it!  I blended them with baby oil.  I pierced holes in series of threes around the patterned paper and doodled some lines between each of the groups.  I used my new Spellbinders nesties to frame the image and added some pearls.

Card measures 5" x 5"

Go Team!

The challenge this week at Meljen's Designs is All Things Sporty.  Melissa released two great sports images this week.  You can find them in her new shop.

I struggled a little bit with challenge as I always do when trying to create a more masculine card!  I used the new Little Football Boy image and colored him with Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil.  I also used the freebie for this week as the sentiment.  I created some yard lines using white cardstock and tried to create the look of grass on the field.  The brown is embossed to try to give it the appearance of the texture of a football.

Tasty Treats Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the DeNami Design Tasty Treats blog hop.  You should have come here from Andrea's blog.  Andrea always has some amazing projects to share!  If you didn't you can always pop over to the DeNami Design blog if you would like to start from the beginning or get lost along the way.  This is my very first time participating in a blog hop and I am excited and nervous to share my projects with you!

I used the stamps Espresso Scene, Three Line Border, and Coffee Latte Espresso.  I stamped Espresso Scene on Mellow Moss and white cardstock and pieced the cups onto the background after coloring them.  I hung the circles from baker's twine from the twinery and tied a twine bow.

Card measures 5.5" x 4.25"
All cardstock Stampin' Up!-Mellow Moss and Early Espresso

Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder
Stampin' Up! Scallop Trim border punch

The second project I want to share was my project for the last DeNami Design challenge.  It fit the theme of the hop so I thought I would share it too.

I used Ice Cream Cone for this card.  I colored part of the image with Copic markers.  I used StazOn and stamped the image again on a foil wrapper from a chocolate egg.  I cut the scoops out and added them to the image.  I used Polka Dot Border for the background.

Card measures 4.25" 5.5"
Sentiment stamp & ribbon-Stampin' Up!

Now it is time for the all of the fine print and details!

The blog hop starts on September 11th at 6 AM, PST. However, you have until September 12, 2011, 11:59 pm PST, to leave comments on all the blogs (to be eligible for a prize).

Why should you hop you ask? Well other than huge amounts of inspiration to get your crafty blood pumping, DeNami Design is giving away a total of 3 $20 gift certificates.  One goes to a random participant (keeping my fingers crossed!) with design team members ineligible for the drawing.  The other two go to two random hoppers who leave comments along the hop.  So make sure to visit every page for your dose of inspiration and your chances to win

Your next stop on the inspiration train is Rochelle's blog.  I am sure she has some wonderful inspiration waiting for you.  Thanks for stopping by!

Tiptoe Through the Tulips

The challenge at Meljen's Designs this week is to use only solid cardstock.  Patterned paper is not allowed this week.  Sounds easy doesn't it...not so much.  I often rely on patterned paper to add a bit of texture or punch to a solid area.  I had to come up with other ways to get the same punch.

I used the image Tulip Buggies and colored with Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil.

I created the panel by spraying my Cuttlebug Birds & Swirls embossing folder with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Patina and Frost.  I used that to emboss a piece of white cardstock.  I embossed the background using my Cuttlebug as well.  I created faux stitching with a white Signo gel pen.

In case you haven't heard, Melissa Jenkins, owner of Meljen's Designs has opened her very own shop.  All of her images are 50% off until tomorrow!  You can also participate in a blog hop to celebrate and could win 4 images!  The design team came up with some wonderful inspiration.  Go check it out!

Going Nuts at the Playground

This week the challenge at Pike's Playground is Yummy in the Tummy:  use any of Dustin's images that depict a food item.

While I may not find this food item tasty, this little guy certainly does!  It actually feels like fall here today, so I was inspired to use some fall colors.  I am not sure it will last, but I will take it for as long as I can get it.  We posted 100 degrees on Friday!
