Queen of Crazy Hair

This week's challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner is Things with Wings/Mythical Creatures.  I love mythical creatures and what better sponsor to work with for this challenge than Faery Ink!

This is Gabbie Queen of Crazy Hair.  I colored her with Copic markers.  I thought she needed to have a fun color for her crazy hair. =)  She has Wink of Stella clear glitter on the insets of her wings, because all fairies should sparkle!  I added Wink of Stella gold glitter to her pendant and her crown.

Come play in our challenge for a chance to win 3 digital images from Faery Ink.  Click the badge below to hop over to the shop.  You won't stop drooling for days!!

Mod Squad Challenge blog has a things with wings challenge.  Gabbie is going to go show off her sparkly wings there.

A Little Voodoo

Today I have a project for you using a new MoonFlower Digital Stamps image called Voodoo Priestess.  She is such a great image for so many things!  You can obviously use her for Halloween, but how about a friend that is having difficulties.  You could use the sentiment, "Just stick to it!"

She is colored with Copic markers.  I went with a black, red, gray combo because I thought it was fitting for a Voodoo Priestess!  The background and frame are Silhouette cut files that are available in the shop.  The background is misted with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist so it has great shimmer, but it is so hard to capture in a picture.  I also used Wink of Stella in gold to color all of the pieces of jewelry and a gold Spica pen to color the candle flames.

You can find all of Andreia's wonderful stamps in the MoonFlower Digtial Stamps shop.  If you join the MoonFlower Digital Stamps group on Facebook, you can find a code for 20% off your purchase this month.  Speaking of the group, we have a monthly challenge running and you can win a digital stamp prize!  Andreia has been known to do a flash giveaway now and then as well.

In addition to winning a free stamp, you can sign up for the newsletter and receive a stamp every month.  Pop over to the website and enter your email address in the form at the bottom of the page.  You will receive a confirmation email, so be sure to confirm to complete the sign up process.  Once you do, you will be able to receive this month's freebie, In the Meadows.  Here is a little preview.  She is gorgeous!

Hope to see you join us in the group so we can see your lovely projects.

Got to Sparkle!

Our new challenge at Crafty Gals Corner is Sparkle and Glitter.  We want to see your most sparkly glitter and gems!

One big problem with sparkle is it is SO hard to photograph!  The other big problem with sparkle is that you find it on your face for days!!  I used BBKakes Flower Boy from Stitchy Bear's Digital Outlet and colored him with Copics.  I used a Wink of Stella clear pen to add some glitter to the flowers.  The small glitter heart is a button that I glittered myself.  Just dab your button on a glue pad and glitter away.  The polka dot paper is actually a glitter paper as well.  If you click on the picture you might be able to see it.  Love this kind of glitter!  It is trapped and stays where it is supposed to!  I pulled the legs off of some glitter brads and glued them in the corners.  That way I didn't have to hide the legs on the inside. =)

We have two wonderful sponsors this week.  You can click on the badges to visit the shops and have a look around.

Happy Fall!

It is the time of year when the air starts to get a little cooler and I couldn't be happier!  Living in the Florida panhandle makes for some very rough summers!  The humidity can be oppressive.  Fall means the humidity here drops and the temps get a tad cooler.  We were actually able to have our windows open for TWO WHOLE DAYS!  The humidity and temperatures went up yesterday, but that's okay.  Fall is definitely on the way.  Our challenge at Creative Knockouts this week is Happy Fall, Y'all.  We want to see some gorgeous fall makes this week!

I love the colors of fall so I pulled them all out to make my card.  I used Beautiful Song For You from our sponsor, Sami Stamps.  The stamp is colored with Copics of course.  I used a Silhouette cut file for the branch and leaves.  I used a few buttons and ribbon to finish off the card.  Got to have ribbons and buttons!!

Sami Stamps is our fabulous sponsor and you could win a $12 gift certificate for the shop!  Click the badge below to be magically transported to a land with adorable digital stamps!

Winter Wishes?

Hello everyone!  Honestly, I am not wishing for winter yet.  I am not a fan of winter.  While I think snow is pretty, I can live without all of the headaches it brings.  I am currently living in the Florida panhandle and we actually get a bit chilly in winter, but we don't get snow.  I can live with that. =)  Our challenge this week is Anything Goes at the Crafty Gals Corner.  A challenge that is always a lot of fun and has so many gorgeous entries.

I used Winter Snow Muff Shoujo from Lemon Shortbread for my project.  I colored her with Copic markers and cut her out with my Silhouette Cameo.  Now this little lady is definitely ready for some snow!  I combined some Spellbinders dies to create the snowflake behind her.  The paper is from Nit Wit Collections and is part of their Winter Wishes collection.  I made the small snowflakes by crumpling a piece of tinfoil and flattening it again.  Then I used a sheet of adhesive to attach a piece of card stock weight vellum to the top.  I punched snowflakes out of the sheet and then used them as embellishments.  If you click the picture you should be able to see the texture the tin foil gives.

We have two wonderful sponsors for the challenge this week.  Just click the badges below to pop over to the shops.

Butterfly Wings

Wow!  Where does the time go?!  It is time for another MoonFlower Designs project for me.  This one was inspired by a recent Make it Crafty challenge to enlarge and crop an image and make it the main focus of the card.  I didn't have time to play in the challenge, but I wanted to give it a try.

I thought Ashlee Butterfly Wings was a great image to use for this type of card.  I enlarged her and cropped just a little of the image for a panel for the front of the card.  Then I cropped her just a bit less and printed again to make the base of my card.  I kept the image on the base black and white and colored the image on the panel using Copics.  If you click the image, you can just see the layers.  I embossed a frame around the edge and kept the card CAS.  I used craft foam to pop up the panel to keep it stable.  I am pretty pleased with the way it turned out since I rarely do CAS cards.

You should join us in the MoonFlower group on Facebook.  It is a great place to get some amazing inspiration and sneak peeks of stamps to come.  Andreia has even been known to do a flash giveaway from time to time.  We even have a monthly challenge for a chance to win MoonFlower stamps.  There is a fan page freebie in the files section too, so be sure to check it out.

You can also get a freebie by signing up for the newsletter.  Each month Andreia draws a freebie exclusively for the newsletter.  It doesn't go into the shop until the next freebie comes out.  You can sign up by popping over to the website and entering your email address in the form at the bottom of the page.  Once you submit your email address, be sure to confirm your subscription using the link in the email you receive.  If you don't get the confirmation email, be sure to check your spam folder.  After confirmation, you will receive a link to the current freebie.  It's that easy and then each month on the 15th, you will receive the next gorgeous freebie!  Here is a sneak peek of the next one!

I can tell you that you definitely want to sign up for the email right now!!  You won't be disappointed!

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope to see you join us in the group and the challenge.

Bingo!

Hello everyone!  It is time for the next challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner.  This week you get to play Bingo!  Well...I guess it is more like tic tac toe, but you get the idea!  Your project must contain three objects in a line diagonally, horizontally or vertically from the chart below.

This week we are being sponsored by Nikki Burnette.  For my project, I used Telsa.  She is such a fabulous image.  I colored her with Copics.  I actually have two Bingo lines completed with this project: 2+ Layers, Hand Colored Digi, Punches/Die Cuts and Flowers, Buttons, Punches/Die Cuts.   I struggled getting this put together.  For every embellishment I added, I knocked two off!  I was certainly having a fat-fingered moment!  I think it must have been extra humid, because it was taking forever for the glue to dry.  I am not the most patient person and hate using liquid glue, but I have struggled with my glue dots since moving to Florida.  They never seem to hold the embellishments long.  The background and the frame were both cut using my Silhouette Cameo.  The background is a cut file that you can find in the shop here and the frame I made myself.  I welded some gear cut files I found in the shop (here and here) onto a square cut.  I am so happy with the way it turned out.

You can pop over to Nikki's shop and look at all of the wonderful images she has available.  Just click the badge below.

You have a chance to win three digital images from the shop.  It will be hard to narrow it down to three.  I guarantee it!

Come play along!  I can't wait to see what you create for Bingo.

Fan-Tastic Tuesday has an anything goes with the twist of feminine.  Telsa is feeling fabulously feminine and is going to visit the challenge.

Anchors Aweigh!

Last week I participated in a fundraiser event called Coloring for Clean Water.  It was to raise funds and awareness of the Ethiopian clean water crisis.  For as little as $3 you can receive a great gift for your donation.  There are 5 digital stamps that were donated by 5 wonderful artists.  A donation of $12 or more will get you all five!  There is a little bit of time left to make your donation and receive these wonderful stamps.  Click the image below to pop over to the donation website.

I have a terrible time making up my mind so I went for it and got all five stamps.  I have used one of them to participate in the coloring competition in the Paper Crafting Support Group on Facebook that hosted the event.

This image is by Julia Spiri.  I only just found this artist and I am hooked!  She has some of the cutest stamps with some wonderful details.  You can find the stamps in her Etsy Shop.  She has also started her brand new challenge blog and I am entering my project in that challenge as well.  The theme is Anything Goes with the twist of something new.  Well...the stamp is new and so is the anchor charm that I used.

I colored the image using Copics.  I colored her starfish earrings using Copic Spica in gold.  I kind of wish I had made it just a smidge bigger, but I think she still turned out okay.  Some of those tiny details had me wishing for a magnifying glass and steadier hands!  I cut her out using my Silhouette Cameo and popped her up on the dies.  You can't tell from the picture, but she really stands out against the navy blue oval.

613 Avenue Create have an anything goes with the twist of creating your own challenge using the chart below.  This little girl and her duck are going to go visit the neighborhood.  My items are image, die cut, solid color paper, buttons and stitching, and ribbon.

Left of Center has a challenge to use mainly red.  This little girl thinks she looks good with all of her red and is going to go play over there.

Time Out Challenges has a Make Your Mark theme.  Since this little girl was colored with Copics, she is going to take some time out over there.

Thanks for stopping by!

It's an Illusion!

Hello everyone!  It is time for another challenge at the Li'l Patch of Crafty Friends.  As always it is anything goes and we have three wonderful sponsors for this challenge.

I had the amazing Blue Sea Illusion from Ching-Chou Kuik to work with.  I think these images are gorgeous, but I have not colored one until now!  They are so intimidating!  I colored her in all blue-green tones with Copics and cut her out using the Silhouette Cameo.  The large blue gem on her forehead started out yellow, but I used a Copic marker to change the color.  I decided on an easel card.  Until recently, I had never made an easel card.  This is my  second one.  They are so easy!  Here is a close up of the bottom part of the easel.  They are a little more difficult to take pictures of.

I had a lot of fun making this project!  Our sponsors for this challenge are:

Hay There!

Another new week...another new challenge!  This theme has one of my favorite elements in it...embossing!!  So let's see your embossed projects.  We have some great prizes up for grabs from our wonderful sponsors.

This week I used Hay Ride from Dee Dee's Digis.  I colored the stamp with Copics,  All of the papers on my card are also included with the digital stamp!  You also get a colored image and 5 sentiments!   And all for $2.50!! How cool is that?!  I wanted to use the leaf paper for one of the hills, but of course it was blue.  So I printed the other two papers.  As I was digging through my scrap stash for a paper for the sky, it hit me!!  Why not use the blue paper?!  So I printed it out and used a cloud embossing folder.  The maple leaves were cut using my Silhouette Cameo.  It was a fun little scene to create.

Our sponsors for this challenge are:

Beccy's Place

Prize of 3 single digital images or 1 digital set.
