Draggin' Dragon

The challenge at Pike's Playground is Shades of Green.  I showed this card to my daughter and she said, "Um...it's really green."  So I guess I met the challenge!

My co-worker is having surgery next week, so I made this card to send to her as she recuperates.  I have had this printed for a while and was waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it.  I colored the image with colored pencils blended with baby oil.  Have to keep this short...I am almost out of time!

Butterfly Tag

The current challenge at DeNami Design is to use patterned paper in your project.  I love using patterned paper because it can add so much to a project.  This is what I came up with.

I stamped the Fancy Butterfly from DeNami Design on patterned paper three times with VersaMark ink.  I heat embossed them with gold embossing powder and cut them out.  Rather than cut around the antennae, I made new ones out of gold wire.  I made a large tag out of scrap white cardstock and covered it with patterned paper then added the butterflies and trim.

Tag measures 6.5" x 3.5"

Birthday Bunny

This week at Meljen's Designs the challenge is to use the sketch created by design team member, Dianna.  I ran out of time last week, so I had to make sure to play this week!

My sister's birthday is tomorrow, so I decided to use the sketch to create her birthday card.

I used the image Cuddle Bun Birthday and colored it with colored pencils and blended them with baby oil.  You can find the image at Whimsy Stamps.  The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up Sale-a-Bration set So Happy for You.

Dudley's Wheels

The challenge at Pike's Playground is to use his recent freebie of Dudley and his power wheels.  He has also asked for cards for a little boy named Dylan who is undergoing treatment for an inoperable brain tumor.  For more about dylan, visit his blog.  This card is for the challenge and will be off to Dustin in tomorrow's mail to be passed on to Dylan.

I colored Dudley and his wheels with colored pencils and blended them with baby oil.  I created the background panel using several mini stamps.  The "hello" and the Teeny Star are from DeNami Design.  The "hi" and the smiley face are from MorningStar Stamps.

Flower Trio

Whew!  Now that Blogger has returned to normal and my posts have returned from cyberspace, I can post my entry for the DeNami Design sketch challenge.  I posted it through Flickr, but didn't post all of the details.  The sketch was created by Wendy, one of the fabulous design team members.

When I created my card, I decided to flip the sketch upside down.

I used the Large Flower Spray and the "hello" stamp from the Assorted Greetings set.  I stamped the flower spray in VersaMark ink and embossed them with Stampin' Up Winter White embossing powder.  The diecut is actually from one of the Stampin' Up label dies, and was given to me by a friend.  I used a white Signo gel pen to create the stitching on the perforation created by cutting the die.  The brad on the bow is also from Stampin' Up.  There are small rhinestones in the center of each of the flowers, but they are really hard to see in the picture.  I also added a bit of detail to the flowers after I colored them with the white gel pen.

A Tall Hello

The challenge this week at Meljen's Designs is to create a business envelope sized card.  It had to measure at least 9.5" x 4".  Mine ended up 9.5" x 4.5".

I used Sunflower Buggies as my image and colored it with colored pencils blended with baby oil.  I also used a Flourish Inchie from Rubbernecker Stamps and the hello stamp from DeNami Designs Assorted Greetings petit four.  The butterfly is from the Stampin' Up embosslits die Beautiful Wings.

Bookmark Challenge

The challenge this week at Meljen's Designs is to create a bookmark.  I love to read and never seem to have a bookmark when I need one.  I just use whatever is handy nearby.  So this challenge was perfect for me.

I used the image Mushroom Mouse and made a simple bookmark.  I have had this image on my list for some time and thought this was the perfect challenge for him!  You can find all of the images from Meljen's Designs at Whimsy Stamps.  I colored the image using colored pencils blended with baby oil.  I used magnet tape on the inside so that it would stay inside a book.
