Gettin' Sketchy

Hello everyone!  It's that time again...another Meljen's Designs challenge that is.  This week we are gettin' sketchy with it!  Just create a project using a Meljen's Designs image and this sketch:

Remember, to qualify for one of the random prizes, you must use a Meljen's Designs image.

This week I chose Love Letter Mouse.  He is new in the shop and I love Melissa's mice.  He came to my house right away and here he is to spread love and inspiration.  The sentiment is from DeNami Designs.  I love that font!

Zap! Pow! You Rock!

Wow...I am actually writing a blog post on a day other than a Thursday!  I know...I am a bad blogger.  My recent posts have only been when it is my turn to create something for the Meljen's Designs Challenge blog.  But truly, that has been the only time I have actually created anything new.  In the past, I have rarely had time to create anything other than my design team assignments.  With my recent move, that has changed and I love being able to get into my crafty space more often!

I created this card using an image from a brand new stamp company, Zap Pow Designs.  They specialize in adorably punny images and sentiments to match.  This image is You Totally ROCK and it comes with the sentiment as well. Pop over and check out the rest of the images.  You will fall in love with them as soon as you do.  They also have a group on Facebook as well as a Facebook page so you can leave them some love once you check out the shop.  These ladies totally rock and are so excited about their new venture!

I think...since I actually blogged something new and just for fun, I am going to enter a challenge!  I am going to link this up to the Card Makin' Mamas challenge.  Their theme is to Stack It Up, and I think this qualifies!  I definitely have three or more layers on this card.  I wonder if I still know how to use Mr. Linky...

Hopefully this is the start of more posts, more challenges, and more inspiration.  Keep your fingers crossed!!

Love You to Pieces

Our challenge at Meljen's Designs this week is to use paper piecing on your project.  If you have never tried this, you need to!  It is a great way to add a pattern to an image.  Just print your image on the patterned paper, cut out the bits you want to use and glue them onto a base image.  Easy peasy!

I used the image Double Scoop Ice Cream.  I love the plaid papers for the ice cream scoops.  I even pieced the whipped cream from a piece of white card stock even though my base image was printed on white card stock.
