Winter Fun

This week at Crafty Sentiments, our challenge theme is winter.  We don't get much in the way of winter and snow where I live, and I don't really miss it!  I do still love to make winter cards though.

I used Snow Ball for my project and colored it with Copic markers.  I kept it pretty simple so it would be suitable for anyone.  I have a container of little puffs from back when chalk was so popular.  They were used to apply the chalk so it would look soft.  Now they make great snowball embellishments!  I just got these awesome pierced dies from Rubbernecker Stamps.  They add a great detail without taking away from the image and I love the rounded corners!

You have a chance to win Crafty Sentiments prizes for playing along.  Why not pop over and check it out?!

Forever

It is time for a little love and inspiration over at Rubbernecker Stamps.  I created this card using Lulu for my design team feature.

I colored Lulu with Copic markers cut her out by hand after tracing the circle die I wanted to use.  I wanted to have her pony tail outside of the die cut.  The sentiment is from the Best Friends Etc stamp set.  Some ribbon, lace, and embellishments and it was done.

Our challenges have started back up so be sure you check out the current theme.  You have a chance to win cash to spend in the store.  A bunch of new dies have been released, so cash to spend is a good thing!

Snowdrop

Welcome back!  We have a great challenge for you this week at Creative Knockouts.  This week your challenge is to use stitching, faux or real, on your project.

This image is Snowdrop Bunny from Imagine That.  It comes in a large pack that has some colored images as well as black and white.  The pack also contains some images with word art too.  Check it out in the shop!  I colored the image with Copic markers.  I had to look up a snowdrop, because I have never seen one.  What a brave little flower to come up while the snow is still on the ground!  I love how the bunny ears and the snowdrop look like they have stitching on them!  I went with faux stitching because I just didn't have the energy to pull out the sewing machine!

You have a chance to win an awesome prize of a $10 gift certificate for the Imagine That shop.  Just click the badge below to see what is available.

Merry Winter

Welcome back to another Crafty Gals Corner challenge.  There are a few things I need to let you know about before bringing on the inspiration.  You may have noticed, but the Crafty Gals Corner has gone through some changes.  The first is that our challenges have changed to biweekly.  In addition to being biweekly, the challenges are now always anything goes.  How great is that?!  That said, we will only have a top three no matter how many entries we have.

Now that the admin stuff is out of the way, on to the fun stuff.  My project for this week is very timely, as there is a chance for some winter precipitation here in my neck of the woods.  We aren't sure what form it will take, but it could happen overnight.  No one here really knows what to do!  I chuckle, because being from farther north, this doesn't seem like much of anything to me.  Schools and businesses have already decided to be closed tomorrow.

This is Kitten from Oddball Art.  She was colored with Copic markers and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  The snowflakes have a bit of clear Wink of Stella so they sparkle.  I used a little shabby pink Frantage on the wooden snowflake to give it some sparkle.

You have a chance to win some fabulous prizes from our sponsors.  If you click a badge below you can check out what is available in the shop.

Snow Fun

We are back at Crafty Sentiments after a short holiday break.  I hope things are getting back to normal for you!  This week, our theme is Winter.  We have had colder than normal temperatures here.  At least we haven't gotten any snow!

This is a s close as I want to get to snow!  I used Having Fun and colored it with Copic markers.  The bucket has silver Wink of Stella for some fun sparkle.  I colored the bucket with Copic markers first so that there would be some shading under the Wink of Stella.  I created the sentiment by combining the die cut word snow and a wooden word.  I think it created some fun dimension.  The word snow is cut from white glitter paper, so is super sparkly in real life.

You have a chance to win great Crafty Sentiments prizes for playing along.  You don't have to use a Crafty Sentiments product, but if you do, you have a chance to win more.  Plus you get entered in the drawing for the Crafty Sentiments favorite.

Hope to see you there!

Sledding

Brrr!  Is it cold where you are?!  It is definitely cold here.  I haven't lived in the south long, but it has been long enough that I have gotten used to milder winters.  This cold snap has reminded me of why I moved farther south in the first place.

For my Rubbernecker Stamps inspiration project this week, I have used Bears Sledding.  They seem to be much better suited for the cold!

I used Copic markers to color these fun polar bears and fussy cut them.  I used some hillside dies to create the little scene and a snowflake embossing folder finished the sky perfectly.

Stay warm and safe!  Hopefully we will all thaw out soon!  In the meantime, check out all the fun  stamps over at Rubbernecker Stamps!

Party!

Welcome back to the Creative Knockouts challenge.  Our theme this week is Celebrations.  What are you celebrating now that the holidays are over?

This is Party Hat Cocoa from Sweet N Sassy Stamps.  The image is pre-colored so it makes for a quick an easy card.  You can also get a line image that you can color yourself.  I used the Silhouette to print and cut him out to fit my die.  A sweet digital paper from Snap Click Supply accented it nicely.  This is from the Hootenanny collection from Designs by Dani.

You have a chance to win $10 to spend in the Sweet N Sassy shop.  Click the badge below to make a wish list.

Winter Kidz

Welcome back to the Crafty Gals Corner.  I hope you enjoyed our Blogaversary hop!  There were so many wonderful projects on offer.  In case you missed the news, The Crafty Gals Corner challenges are changing to bi-weekly starting with this challenge.  That will give you plenty of time to play along!  Our theme for this challenge is anything goes.  We are keeping it simple while everyone is trying to recover from the holidays.

This is Winter Kidz Girl from Bugaboo Stamps.  She was colored with Copic markers and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  I kept her colors cool and frosty for winter.  It has definitely arrived!  While it isn't as cold in my neck of the woods, it is definitely much colder than it has been for some time!

Something New

At Fabrika Fantasy, our new challenge is to create a project for something new.  I looked through the images and I thought it would be fun to make a card for someone getting a new driver's license.  Getting a driver's license is a rite of passage for teens everywhere, so why not give a special card for the occasion?

I used Traveling Princess for this card and colored her using Copic markers.  I gave her dress a little sparkle using a coloring technique and her crown, buttons, bumper and decoration on the car has Wink of Stella for some added sparkle.

I hope you will join us in our celebration of something new.  You can win some great prizes for playing along.  You don't have to use a Fabrika Fantasy image to play, but if you do, you will be entered in a special drawing just for projects using a Fabrika Fantasy image.  If you win, you win extra images!
