Thanks so Doggone Much!

DeNami Design took a break from challenges in July.  So many people were disappointed that Paulina set an informal color challenge for everyone to play in.

I have to admit...these colors were definitely a challenge for me.  Once I picked my stamps, it came together pretty quickly though.

I used the Playful Puppies stamp set and stamped three of the dogs.  I masked them and then stamped the two in between.  I masked all five dogs and stamped the Polka Dot Background over the masks.  I colored the dogs using colored pencils blended with baby oil.  The sentiment was printed on my computer.

Recipe Challenge

At Meljen's Designs this week, the challenge theme is a recipe.  You have to use one bow, three brads and a circle on your project.  Here is my card for the challenge this week.

I used the image Simple Little Butterfly which is available at Whimsy Stamps.  I used two of the brads for the color spots on the butterfly, and the third brad is on the bow.  I really love these button brads and will have to get more.  The butterfly is actually dimensional on the card.

I colored it using colored pencils blended with baby oil.  Then I cut it out and folded the wings up slightly for some dimension.

Birthday Elephant

The theme for the challenge at Pike's Playground is Animal's Rule.  Dustin has tons of animal digis and the challenge is to try to pick one to use on a project!  I was out of town this weekend, so I used an image that I had already colored.

Just a quick simple card for me this week.  I colored the image using colored pencils blended with baby oil.

Ahoy!

The Embellish Magazine blog has a nautical theme for their challenge.  I decided to play along.

I used the image Sail Away Sailor from Meljen's Designs.  I colored it using colored pencils and baby oil.  The sentiment was a freebie on the Meljen's Designs blog.  You can find it here.  I used an embossing folder with Core'dinations cardstock and sanded it to make the weathered wood background.  The button came from a can of buttons that I have had for years!

Dragon's Friend

The challenge this week at Meljen's Designs is buttons and bows.  My mojo has been suffering this week, but here is what I came up with.

I used the image Dragon's Little Friend and colored it with colored pencils blended with baby oil.  You can find Meljen's Designs images at Whimsy Stamps. The background is Core'dinations cardstock embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and sanded.

Pen Pal

The challenge this week at Meljen's Designs is to use no more than two layers.  I hope I have followed the challenge!

I used Penpal Mouse and Hi Wordart.  Hi Wordart was a freebie this week!  I colored the image using colored pencils blended with baby oil.  I used alphabet stamps to stamp the background.  I am running really late so a short post today!

Hot and Bothered!

The theme for the challenge this week at Pike's Playground is hot and bothered.  Projects have to use a summer themed Doodle Dragon Studios image.  This is my project for the challenge.

The image was colored using colored pencils blended with baby oil.  I created the embossed lines on the top part of the card with a scoring board.

Mouse with Flower

The challenge this week at Meljen's Designs is a sketch challenge with a layout created by talented design team member, Dianna.

Here is my card for the challenge.

I used the Paper Craft Planet 400 member freebie image.  The group has over 1000 members now and there is a freebie at each 100 member mark!  Come join the group at Paper Craft Planet!  I colored this image a while ago, but I think I used colored pencils blended with a colored pencil blender from Artist's Loft.  It looks like a brush marker and has blending solution in it.  I bought it before I started using the baby oil, which I like much better.
