With a Flourish

We have a fun challenge for you this week at the Creative Knockouts.  Our theme is Fancy Flourishes and we want to see a flourish on your card.

I used Smell the Flowers Pixie from Lemon Shortbread for this project.  The flowers on the background paper have flourished stems, so I thought it was perfect for this challenge.  I colored the pixie with Copics to match, popped the sheet into the Silhouette Cameo for cutting, and then she landed here. =)

Lemon Shortbread is our sponsor for this week.  You have the chance to win 3 digital images!  So exciting.  Wish I could play along!  Click the badge below to pop over to the shop and see what's new!

Pop of Color

We have a great challenge for you this week at the Crafty Gals Corner.  We want to see a pop of color.  So use primarily neutrals with a pop of color.

I used Steampunk Rose Bug by Rick St. Dennis for this project.  Such a unique image!  I loved it immediately and thought it would look awesome colored in Sepia tones with a pop of color for the rose.   I printed the image on Cryogen White card stock from The Paper Temptress then pulled out my Copic E50's and got to work.  The Cryogen White has a lovely shimmer to it!  I chose the burgundy as my pop of color to match the Cordovan Leather paper from the Paper Temptress for my pop of color.  I also used the Cordovan Leather for the die and for the band across the card.  The texture of this paper really is so much like leather.  It was just missing that leather smell. =P  The embossed layer is the Khaki Ruche (crepe) also from the Paper Temptress.  This paper has such a great texture on its own, and then with the embossing it is amazing!  The oval behind the rose was cut from a scrap of Opal in card stock weight.  It has such a lovely shimmer.  You can also buy it from the Paper Temptress.  When I pulled out all of my embellishments, I loved the metal flower.   It actually had a white pearl brad for the center, which didn't really match all of the creamy tones, so I removed the brad and replaced it with a gold-toned pearl.

If you haven't guessed, we have two wonderful sponsors, The Paper Temptress and Rick St. Dennis, this week.  You can click the badges below to pop over and start shopping.

To Die or to Punch

Hello!  Since it is Wednesday, that means it is time for another challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner.  This week our challenge theme is Dies Cuts and/or Punches.  I tend to go for die cuts.  How about you?  Which is your favorite?

Our youngest daughter graduates from college next month.  I know it will be a crazy time, so I thought I would get her card done now.  I saw Graduation Girl from Kenny K and just knew she was perfect for the card.  I colored her with Copics and cut her out using the silhouette.  I have to admit to almost forgetting the die cut!  I had to take Graduation Girl off of the card to add it in.  I even used some of the negative pieces from the die cut as embellishments.

I also used some papers from The Paper Temptress on this card.  I wish I could have gotten a better photograph because they are so fabby in real life!  The base card is the Retro Silver Lustre and the black is the Laser Black Glossy Lustre. Both give such a fabulous impact because of their laser embossed pattern.  They have so much shimmer and shine in real life.

We have three wonderful sponsors for you this week.  You can pop over to each shop by clicking the badges below.  But don't say I didn't warn you.  Your wish list will fill up fast!

Thinking of You

Hello everyone!  Welcome back to another challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner.  This week our challenge theme is Love Is in the Air.  Valentine's Day is on the way and we want to see your projects with a little love.

I used Analiese by Nikki Burnette and colored her with Copics.  She was cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.  All of the papers on this card are from The Paper Temptress.  She has so many amazing papers.  If you are a paper hoarder collector like I am, you need to pop over to her website.  I used a piece of Cryogen White for the base card.  I would normally save this for coloring, but it was too small to fit through my printer.  The shimmer of the Cryogen White makes the perfect background for the Laser Silver Lustre background paper.  I was lucky enough to attend the Kit and Clowder craft retreat in Orlando and received a goody bag of papers from The Paper Temptress.  The Laser Silver Lustre paper was in there!  The red is a scrap of Red Pepper Thick Columns that I had left from previous projects.

We have three wonderful sponsors for you this week.  Click the badges to pop over to each shop to see what they have to offer.

Enjoy the Ride

Hello everyone.  Welcome back for another challenge over at Crafty Gals Corner.  This week we challenge you to use scraps!  I know I have a ton of scraps and I try to use them before I cut a new sheet of paper.  With all of the scraps I have, I will never cut a new sheet!

This is Enjoy the Ride from Graciellie Design.  Both the stamp and the sentiment were printed on Cryogen White.  I colored the bike with Copics and cut it out using my Silhouette Cameo.

All of the papers used on this card are from Paper Temptress.  Such gorgeous papers!  All of these scraps except for the red came from the previous project I did using Paper Temptress papers. The Red Pepper Epic Thick Columns was in a sample pack I received while at a craft retreat over the summer.  Also, the only paper that was not a scrap was the black base made from the Epic Black Thick Columns.   That sample pack started my love of Paper Temptress papers!  So much gorgeousness in one little bag!  The gold die cut is the Antique Gold Mica/Metallic in text weight.  The smaller die was cut from the Candido Incandescent in card stock weight.  The border was punched from Opal in card stock weight.  Both Candido and Opal have a lovely golden sheen to them.  It is hard to capture it in a photo, but in real life they are amazing!  I love that you can get the paper in various weights depending on what you will use it for. The layer under the sentiment is a scrap of Grandpa's Wallpaper overlay.  It is a gold pattern printed on acetate.  So gorgeous!  I wanted the roses to have a golden sheen to them as well, so I swiped my Wink of Stella gold pen over them.  It gave them the perfect touch.

I could go on all day about the papers from Paper Temptress!  But I should give you the rest of the details about the challenge.  We have four wonderful sponsors this week!  Click the badge to head over to the shop and feast your eyes on all of the loveliness!

A Birthday Leap

This week over at the Crafty Gals Corner, we are celebrating birthdays so we would love to see your birthday projects.  We are sponsored by The Paper Temptress, The East Wind, and Lacy Sunshine.  So many wonderful prizes up for grabs!!  I had so many wonderful papers from The Paper Temptress that I took a step leap outside of my comfort zone.  I always see the cards that have layers upon layers of gorgeousness and I thought that would be a good way to showcase the papers.  MAN!! It is a lot of work!!  I showed it to my loving hubby and he said "Wow...that's a lot of stuff."  Needless to say, he wasn't much help. =P

For my image, I used Aurora Gift from The East Wind.  I colored her using Copics and wanted to stay in a sort of monochromatic theme.  I colored the ribbon on the package with a gold Wink of Stella pen.  I also used it to accent the ribbons in her hair and the flowers on her dress.  All of the gorgeous papers are from The Paper Temptress.  The image was printed on Cryogen White card stock.  I have always wanted to give this paper a go.  It blends beautifully and has a subtle shimmer.  It adds so much to the image.  I used 100# Whip Cream Pop Tones card stock for the base.  It is a wonderful weight for a sturdy base.  The patterned layer is actually an acetate overlay.  The pattern I used was Grandpa's Wallpaper.  For the other layers I used Candido Incandescent, which has a wonderful gold iridescence and texture, and Opal in card stock weight which also has a wonderful gold shimmer.  The gold die cuts and rolled rose were made using Antique Gold Mica/Metallic in text weight.  Such a gorgeous gold color and shimmer!!  The little hearts were the scrap cuts from the heart border die.

Enough talk about the gorgeous papers!  (I could go on all day!  I may have a problem!!)  On to the sponsors and what you could win if you play in our challenge this week.  As always, click the badge to visit the sponsor website.
