Favorite Colors

This week at the Creative Knockouts, we have a challenge that is sure to please!  Use your favorite color combo on your project this week!  What colors get your creative juices flowing?  Like most people, my favorite color combo depends on the project.  For a little girl's project I love brown and pink.  Blue and brown are a favorite go-to for a little boy.  At Christmas, I tend toward burgundy and artichoke or pink and burgundy.  My favorite season of the year is fall and I absolutely love the colors especially the golden yellows and rusty reds.  It is one thing I really miss about living farther north.

This week I used Autumn from Imagine That.  It was a little difficult to think about a fall card when the air was so heavy and humid outside!  She and her furry friend were colored with Copic markers and I ended up using the Silhouette to cut her out because the one leaf ended up outside of the circle die.  This digi also comes with several sentiments.  I think I may use the sentiment "Piles of Smiles", but I haven't made up my mind yet.  I always wait to see what I am going to use the card for before adding a sentiment.

Our sponsor this week is, of course, Imagine That.  You have a chance to win a prize of a $10 gift certificate to the shop.  Get creating so you can get to shopping!  Click the badge below to take a look at all of the great digis on offer.

I hope you decide to join us this week!

Wish

This week at the Crafty Gals Corner we would like to see your Birthday projects.  I don't ever seem to have enough birthday cards on-hand, so I love a good birthday challenge!

When we were kids, we used to blow on the dandelions and make a wish.  If you got all of the seeds off in one blow, your wish would come true!  I am sure we were responsible for seeding the entire neighborhood hoping all of our wishes would come true.  As soon as I saw Dandelion Fae from Faery Ink, it brought back that memory and I thought she would make a good birthday card.  She was colored with Copic markers and cut out using the Silhouette Cameo.

You have chances to win prizes from two fabulous sponsors this week.  Click the badges below to pop over to each shop.

Love and Kisses

Wow!  It is already time for another challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner!  I cannot believe it is Wednesday already!  I just went back to work and the days are just flying by for me.  This week our challenge is anything goes.  We know how much you love them, so we have one anything goes each month.

This week I used Sea Turtle Kiss from Aurora Wings for my project.  What a sweet little mermaid!  She was colored with Copic markers and cut out using the Silhouette.  I wanted something sea themed for her so I cut out a shell shaped easel card using my Silhouette Cameo.  I just copied, flipped, and welded the shell shape to make the card base and then cut out a single shape from a pearly card stock.  All of the sea weed and coral were cut using the Silhouette as well.  The coral was traced from a line drawing of coral I found.

This area has a large sea turtle population.  They nest on the beaches around here and there is a large volunteer force that makes sure all the hatchlings make it to the sea unharmed.  It is a wonderful sight to behold and I hope to see it in person one day!

This week you have a chance to win a $15 gift certificate from our fabulous sponsor Aurora Wings!  Mitzi's designs are to die for!  You can see for yourself by clicking the badge below.

Birthday Celebration

Our theme for the challenge this week at Creative Knockouts is Birthday Wishes.  We want to see your birthday projects!  We are always in need of birthday cards so this is a great time to stock up!

This is my project using My Sweet Rose from Star Stampz.  She was colored with Copic markers and cut out using the Silhouette.  Originally I had intended to use a die to cut her out, but I had an accident with my BV25 marker!  When I pulled the cap off, it spritzed my paper!  There were little spots of BV25 everywhere!  Luckily, most of it ended up on the background and I just had to cut the image out to get rid of it.  The embossed panel is actually the debossed side.  Both sides are wonderful, but I felt the debossed side fit my image a little bit better.  I love how different each side looks.

Star Stampz is our sponsor this week and you can click the badge below to shop.  I know if you pop over there, you will have a wish list a mile long.  I know I do!

Isn't It July?!

Hello fellow crafty peeps!  Today brings a new challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner and the challenge this week is Christmas in July!  I don't know about you, but this is the only Christmas card I have made this year so far.  It is so hard for me to think about making Christmas cards when it is so oppressively hot outside!

I used Ava Christmas - Mistletoe Fairy from Bugaboo Stamps for this card.  She was colored with Copic markers and cut out using the Silhouette.  The holly leaves are also from a Silhouette cut file.  She has Wink of Stella on her wings because all fairy wings should sparkle in my book!

We have three fabulous sponsors this week.  Click a badge and pop over to shop!
